The ten best console racing games of all time

Have your gaming tastes changed as you age? Mine have. Back in the early days, before starting an accidental love affair with the car, I’d play anything. In fact, I don’t even remember my first racing game, although Outrun is probably a safe guess considering my age and where I grew up. But as I’ve gotten older and time for gaming has become scarce, that’s all gone, and I exist on a diet that’s almost exclusively racing. Console racing at that. Blame fear of having to learn something new if you like.

Microsoft promotes ‘full-Chromium’ Edge to Beta, touts enterprise skillset

Microsoft this week pushed the “full-Chromium” Edge one step closer to a production release with the launch Tuesday of a Beta build for macOS and all supported editions of Windows, including 7 and 10.”Beta is the third and final preview channel which will come online before launch,” wrote Joe Belfiore, a top Windows executive, in an Aug. 20 post to a company blog. “Beta represents the most stable preview channel, as features are added to Beta only after they have cleared quality testing in first the Canary channel and then the Dev channel.”To read this article in full, please click here

Hear THX’s new Deep Note right here

The THX Deep Note is changing and it can be heard here first. The iconic audio track has long proceeded movies certified by THX and features the now-familiar crescendo that showcases the movie’s audio capability. This time around THX built the intro to feature 4K video as much as audio as it will be available to theaters that are THX Certified Cinema partners.
To make the trailer immersive online, THX utilized its THX Spatial Audio post-production mixing tools that enables online users to experience the multidimensional sound using headphones. It’s special. Don some headphones and turn up your volume before pressing play. THX says in a press release it “applied advanced objects and ambisonics-based engineering, essentially spherical harmonics, for full-sphere audio.” I’m not sure what that means, but the trailer sounds great.
The original THX Deep Note debuted at the premiere of Return of the Jedi in Los Angeles.

Amazon Forecast – Now Generally Available

Getting accurate time series forecasts from historical data is not an easy task. Last year at re:Invent we introduced Amazon Forecast, a fully managed service that requires no experience in machine learning to deliver highly accurate forecasts. I’m excited to share that Amazon Forecast is generally available today!
With Amazon Forecast, there are no servers to provision. You only need to provide historical data, plus any additional metadata that you think may have an impact on your forecasts. For example, the demand for a particular product you need or produce may change with the weather, the time of the year, and the location where the product is used.
Amazon Forecast is based on the same technology used at Amazon and packages our years of experience in building and operating scalable, highly accurate forecasting technology in a way that is easy to use, and can be used for lots of different use cases, such as

Zotac ZBOX Magnus EC52070D Home Entertainment Mini PC Review

Without question, my living room PC is the most versatile piece of electronics in my AV system. I do just about everything with it, including all of my work for AVS Forum. From Photoshop to video editing in Premiere to music production in Ableton live, it’s the focus of my creativity and also a major source of entertainment.
Daily, I use a PC for streaming music with Google play, watch live sports on YouTube TV, and to stream TV shows plus movies using iTunes and Vudu. For years I’ve relied on a DIY PC that gets the job done, but is quite large. Now, with the Zotac ZBOX Magnus EC52070D Home Entertainment Mini PC, similar performance comes in a far more compact, modern mini-PC that’s much easier to fit into an AV system. Here’s my hands-on experience.
The System
Zotac sent me a “barebones” Magnus EC52070D, meaning it had the RTX 2070 video
